My clients hire me for my visual problem solving skills and ability to see the big picture. My 25 year career has included creative concepting for identity systems, design for marketing materials, interactive design for sales presentations, educational programs, E Learning, and editorial art.

Case Study: Interactive Learning that's fun

A phone call from a multimedia producer at Pearson Education, asked about my illustration and Flash animation work. Pearson was moving their best selling text book, “Fundamentals of English Grammar”, to digital media. The East Coast producer thought my whimsical style would be perfect for animated grammar characters — was I interested?

A dream project: creativity required

I suggested a diverse cast of characters to engage their global audience. The producer agreed so I began to study human faces — a vast range of features and color that inspired over 80 unique, highly diverse population of characters.

80 very diverse characters in over 200 movies

I animated variations of each one in over 200 Flash movies. Each movie featured a character who blinked their eyes, arched eye brows, moved their head and mouth while speaking the grammar lesson.

In a reversal of standard animation procedure, the NY voice talent acted to my sketches — a compliment to the personality evident in the art work. When the project was completed, the animations were showcased at the 2005 National Teachers Convention and awarded for innovation and educational value.
