When the scientific paper. “A Draft Sequence of the Neandertal Genome”, was published in the journal “Science” in 2010, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) asked Fellman to produce this video for the AAAS Member Central web site. The paper was the very first sequence of a Neanderthal DNA. It revealed genetic signatures that may have helped us adapt in prehistoric times but may also be causes for disease in some of us today. The story of archaic and modern human interaction will continue as more bones are found and DNA is sequenced — prehistoric stories that are finally being revealed.
