When you contact Fellman Studio, you’ll talk to me, Lynn Fellman. I’m an independent artist and writer creating engaging content about genomic science. Honored to be a Fulbright Senior Scholar and member of the National Association of Science Writers (NASW). 

Sequencing of the human genome, circa 2001, sparked a desire to learn, turning me into a fierce advocate for basic research. I’ve been communicating the value of genomic science with art and story ever since. Read more about my background and the science sparking my art.

Awards and Collaborations

I’ve been a consultant for broader impacts on National Science Foundation grants and received support from research institutes, universities, and scientific organizations. Project descriptions are listed on the awards and collaborations page. Here are three I’m especially proud of:

• I received the Fulbright Senior Scholar Award to Israel to collaborate with evolutionary geneticist Dr. Dan Mishmar and produce Gene Cross-Talk about his mitochondrial research.
• My book, Decoding Plant Genomes, was supported by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL).
• After publication, CSHL scientists Jack Satterlee and Blaine Fitzgerald and I developed a workshop based on my book and their research. Designed for 10-13-year-olds, the workshop at the DNA Learning Center sold out — was a hit!
