I’m an independent artist—drawing and writing to show and explain the science of the magnificent genome—the marvelous biology of your DNA.
You can reach me by email at Lynn (at) Fellman Studio (dot) com. Please follow me on LinkedIn and Instagram. I’m @LynnFellman on Threads and BlueSky. Watch my videos on my YouTube channel.
Working with scientists.
My book, “Decoding Plant Genomes,” was supported by Cold Spring Harbor Lab’s artist residency program, where I interviewed plant biologists engineering plants to withstand climate change.
I’m a Fulbrighter! The Fulbright Association granted me the Senior Scholar Award to Israel so that I could work with evolutionary geneticist Dr. Dan Mishmar and produce a video about his mitochondrial research.
My work has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the University of Minnesota (UMN), and many scientists and scientific organizations. Read more about my awards and supporters here.
Hey, artist, why genomics?
The mighty combo of art and story to explain the science of the genome is my cunning plan to entice curiosity to know more. Now that we can engineer life, we need science-savvy citizens like you to support scientific research. Future generations are counting on us to ensure a sustainable future.
